A Justiça Eleitoral agendou para 23 de junho, às 13h30 horas, a sessão de julgamento da denúncia contra o prefeito de Corumbá, Marcelo Iunes, o ex-servidor comissionado Marconi de Souza Junior, conhecido como Macaco, e a ex-secretária-adjunta de Saúde, Mariluce Gonçalves Leão.
A acusação envolve crimes de corrupção eleitoral (compra de votos) e falsidade ideológica com o objetivo de garantir votos para a reeleição de Iunes em 2020.
Marconi foi flagrado pela PF com dinheiro e lista de nomes além de tentar destruir seu celular no momento da abordagem A Procuradoria Regional Eleitoral denunciou Iunes por crimes de corrupção eleitoral e falsidade ideológica, acusando-o de cometer os crimes mencionados, reiteradamente por pelo menos 31 vezes, com a participação dos servidores públicos Marconi e Mariluce Gonçalves.
A denúncia aponta que a compra de votos incluía a distribuição de dinheiro, cestas básicas, remédios e a antecipação de exames e procedimentos médicos realizados por um laboratório de propriedade do irmão e da esposa do prefeito, com Marconi e Mariluce operando o esquema.

Durante a investigação, Marconi tentou destruir seu celular ao ser conduzido à delegacia, mas a quebra do sigilo telefônico revelou indícios de uma associação criminosa formada por agentes públicos e políticos praticando crimes eleitorais em Corumbá, especialmente a compra de votos .

Além da Compra de votos em Corumbá, o prefeito Marcelo Iunes foi denunciado, também, pela prática do crime eleitoral previsto no artigo 350, ao ter, segundo as investigações da PF, mentido em sua declaração de prestação de contas referente a contratação de cabos eleitorais que trabalharam ao longo da campanha eleitoral.

O esquema, contava ainda com diversos vereadores que foram reeleitos, o ex-secretário de governo Luis Antônio (Pardal) e pelo ex-vereador Alex Dellas, que atuava como líder do governo na Câmara de vereadores na gestão de Marcelo Iunes.
